1 cup water
1 cup sugar
2 drops lavender extract or 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender
1 cup lemon juice, about 6 lemons juiced
3 cups cold sparkling water
1 drop purple food coloring optional
Instructions

Combine water and sugar in saucepan. If using culinary lavender buds add those also.

Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Let syrup cool to room temperature.

Strain the lavender buds out using a mesh strainer.

Combine lemon juice, sugar syrup and extract in a pitcher. Optional, add food coloring.

Right before serving add the 3 cups sparkling water and serve over ice with a slice of lemon.
